Igniting Impact

Use your knowledge, skills and passion to impact society

Igniting Impact enables University of Toronto students to use their education, skillsets, and drive to build a for-profit or not-for-profit startup company that solves a real-world problem. Whether you have no idea what you want to do or the beginnings of a startup idea, attending our workshop will help you develop or refine your thoughts before you jump into starting an actual company.

At Igniting Impact workshops, Impact Centre facilitators work with students to identify existing opportunities and develop ideas to solve problems by creating new solutions or by making improvements to existing products and services in terms of quality, speed, and cost. Attendees will leave the event knowing how to come up with, then critically evaluate, ideas to solve problems and improve the world.

Following the workshops, participants will have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with mentors to identify what problems are aligned with their knowledge and passions then work through the development of solid ideas for technological and business solutions for those issues.
